Fantastic wine, friendly staff, and yummy cheese plate. A shining gem in Washington Wine Country!

Sharla L — Google review

14 Hands has consistently delivered high quality, excellent value WA red wine blends for many years. The 2019 Juicy Red is another great example. Syrah based, it serves up complex, well balanced blueberry, dark cherry, black current, mocha and spices. We enjoyed ours during a delicious roast beef dinner. Still youthful for about an hour, it smoothed out nicely for sipping after dinner.

This place is amazing! I read a comment that said the wines are totally different than what is in the store and that is 100percent true. Great wines at a great price. The white cabernet is divine and the charcuterie board has the best cheese I've had in years.

Jennifer V — Google review

We continue to enjoy going to 14 Hands each time we visit our family in the Tri-Cities so that we may select a few more bottles to bring back home to Napa where we live— we especially love their Cabernet Sauvignon! What we like is that 14 Hands offers a good selection of reasonably priced wines. We also really enjoy the wine tasting experience because 14 Hands has a very nice tasting room, a pleasant and knowledgeable staff, and a large and welcoming patio area— we recommend ordering the cheese plate, which we have found to nicely complement our wine tastings!

A beautiful winery serving one of our favourite Chardonnay’s!! Just a quick first stop on a whirlwind three week road trip, we couldn’t ask for more! Grabbed a few bottles to go for our evening “night cap” in the next town/state!! Thank you 14 Hands for making such tasty product!!

Gordon M — Google review

Went here for a wine tasting and they were so awesome and so nice that we ended up joining their wine club which has no membership fee. As a result our complete wine tasting was free and the bottle the prices of the bottles of wine were greatly reduced. It's a very nice wine tasting room with a big large outdoor area that wraps all the way around. Besides the tasting room in large outdoor patio area, they have some interesting vintage barnwood displays, an art gallery, and a little store. Employee Cassandra took great care of us and told us so much history of the winery and their different grapes and vintages. We had such a fun time, highly recommend.

Our highlight of our winery visits in Prosser was the warm welcome we got from Casandra and Veronica at the Best Western Express and 14 Hands winery. They represent the best of the company!

Carole H — Google review

We stopped by this lovely tasting room while on a road trip in July 2022, as a respite from driving in the 100°+ heat.It was a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere of the tasting room is very nice, our tasting guide was wonderful and we enjoyed some unique reserve wines that the winery does not distribute very widely in liquor stores. So, of course, we ended up buying a few bottles. Highly recommended!

Great spot! - & friendly staff... Chelsee was very helpful and we enjoyed her knowledge and sense of humor. Highly recommended!

First time at a tasting room in Eastern Washington. This place was not crowded for a Sunday, but we were not their during the busy season. Learned about their process and how they get their wine. Had some nice reserves while there.

Nestled against the stunning backdrop of Mount Hood, Timberline Lodge is a charming ski retreat that transports you back to the 1930s with its rustic lodge rooms and cozy chalets. This enchanting destination not only offers comfortable accommodations but also features an inviting outdoor pool for relaxation after a day on the slopes. Dining at Timberline Lodge is an experience in itself; guests can savor locally sourced, seasonally inspired dishes at the Cascade Dining Room while enjoying breathtaking views of the Cascade Mountains.

Such a magical place to visit. We took snowboard lessons on a beautiful, very cold and breezy day.Our instructor, Gio, was patient and helpful. My kids enjoyed the lesson and have shown interest in returning. We had lunch in the majestic Timberline Lodge. So much history within. It was nice to wander about and take in the giant fireplaces on each level and read about the history of the lodge on the various placards, displays and photos.Parking was nearly full. Be sure to get a day/annual snow park permit before arriving. Easy to get in Sandy or Hood River so you don’t have to hassle with getting one once you arrive.

The warm, helpful and friendly attitude of the staff made our trip! Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond for us. We reserved 4 rooms over a year in advance for the days after Christmas 2024. We were excited to spend time at the lodge in Oregons only ski in ski out resort. When we arrived the weather was frightful - full on blizzard. Even though we arrived six hours before check in The staff helped us move all our luggage and stored it in the managers office. The weather did not improve and in fact turned to rain the first day. This gave us the opportunity to explore the lodge and its rich history. We were able to check into our rooms early. The fireplace rooms are original as if the builders just left. They do show their age a bit but if in Europe you would call it patina and in our eyes it added to the rustic feel of the lodge. Our first nights dinner in the Cascade dining room was exceptional. We opted for paying the corkage fee on our own wine which made life a bit less stressful. When in Oregon there are so many fine wines. The quintessential ski lodge coupled with perhaps the best staff attitude we have ever experienced made it the best rip ever.

My husband and I have been coming to Timberline for years. We absolutely love this place and recently stayed over New Years. It's been on our radar for a while and we finally checked it off the list. The folks at Timberline did an absolutely stand out job for the entire New Years Eve celebration. A wonderful dinner, a band, fireworks, lots of party favors. I don't think I could have wanted anything else! I loved being able to dance in my Ugg boots, because, well...ski lodge attire! If you are even remotely considering this place, don't hesitate. Soak up the amazing history, the ambiance by the fire, the great drinks and snacks up at Rams Head or delicious pizza at Blue Ox. You will feel like you're in your own private pocket of the world that no one can touch.Word to the wise: while the beds are SUPER comfy, the hotel is really old and the walls are thin. Don't be surprised if you hear footsteps outside your door or above you if you're not on the 3rd floor (our preference). Sometimes there is a shared vent in the bathrooms so you may also hear some noises there. After a long day of snowboarding, we pass out hard and don't really hear much at all until the snow cat picks up in the AM. Each room is a tiny bit different, so my husband and I are on a mission to stay in each one just to note the differences. The renovations that they've done for their pool and hot tub are so great. You must take advantage of this if you've been out in the cold all day! While Timberline is special all year round, the holidays are just done so well there that you should definitely stay if you have the chance!

Rebecca R — Google review

Beautiful lodge in a stunning setting! Excellent food, nice rooms (albeit fairly small and spartan, which is unsurprising given when the lodge was built), great gift shop, outside swimming pool and hot tub, sauna and several fireplaces. Really enjoyed staying here and highly recommend it!

Erik R — Google review

We skied at the resort and had drinks in the lodge. Wonderful staff and a top choice for skiing. Ski patrol was helpful as snowfall picked up fast and we found ourselves stuck on a slope. The road was closed Christmas night as we were trying to take the shuttle down to Government camp during a big storm. Car accidents stopped traffic both directions. The staff worked hard all night to get us all safely down the mountain and even gave priority to guests over employees for shuttling — very appreciated as it was a long cold day for everyone. And it was Christmas.Thank you to all the kind, generous staff on a particularly challenging evening. I hope all had a nice Christmas. Thanks, Timberline! Can’t wait to come back.

Lodge Hotel is well beyond its better days. Our review is of Hotel and Restaurant quality. Many positive reviews here reflect the beauty of the area, skiing, or impressive old lodge. But ultimately the business needs to stand on its own merits. We enjoyed the snow, the views, the old lodge charm. But the hotel and dining part of our experience was seriously disappointing

DK S — Google review

I stayed here with family in January and it was a wonderful experience. The only thing that was disappointing is food. Everything else was great. We really enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tub. Our room was beautiful and clean.

Lena M — Google review

Oh my goodness we had the most wonderfully relaxing anniversary weekend at the lodge! I’ve been up to Timberline countless times throughout my life, but I’ve never stayed at the lodge. I’m so glad we did! We went for our anniversary, and it was so nice because everybody kept telling us happy anniversary, and there was a sweet card and little bottle of wine waiting for us in our room. We had a king room with a fireplace, I’d highly recommend that room, it was so cozy! The new pool and huge hot tub were amazing as well! We had breakfast in the Cascade dining room and were not disappointed, very tasty. And the views!!!! My goodness, I don’t think it’s possible to stay anywhere else in Oregon with such spectacular views. Worth every penny :)

Mountain peak

Nature & Parks

Nestled in the heart of Oregon, Mt. Hood stands as a majestic volcanic peak that captivates adventurers and nature lovers alike. This iconic mountain is not only home to the historic Timberline Lodge but also boasts an array of outdoor activities such as skiing, climbing, and hiking. As one of Oregon's renowned Seven Wonders, it features North America's only year-round ski resort perched on its slopes.

I love mountains so much and this one has much to offer. The views and the pointy top is amazing. I’ve done hikes on the south, north, east, and west and they have all been so unique in their own ways and gives you different amazing views of it. Snow boarding on an epic mountain in winter is amazing too. There are many rivers, lakes, waterfalls that surround it too. Many places to see and would highly recommend a lot of it surrounding the mountain. There are many different wildflowers, trees and plants to see too! The best part is that most trails are free to the public as well. Dogs are also allowed at most places and trails on leash. There are many surrounding lakes in the area or snow parks in the winter where you go can sledding for fun. Roads are usually plowed in good shape in winter too.

Josh P — Google review

The most majestic piece of mother nature you will experience in Oregon. Expect a 90 minute drive from Portland to the base of Mt Hood. We hiked the Umbrella Trail which was predominantly a forestry vibe. There were a few small waterfalls along the path but not many scenic overlooks however.

Kimatni R — Google review

Just beautiful! We took the train ride up the mountain. Hindsight we would've driven there as we were headed up the mountain to Timberline Lodge. The views from the Orchard was spectacular though

Danette K — Google review

You can see this gorgeous mountain which is always equipped in snow around many places in Portland - I was able to see it on my flight!

Hemshika — Google review

Got to see Mt. Hood from a few different angles I will drop a few pics from when on the lift and driving to it. For sure worth checking out if you like to site see!

Tony A — Google review

Kinda funny to “rate” a mountain but I’d give Mount Hood a five out of five. I’ve been there dozens of times but recently had a wonderful trip up the gorge then around the backside. When the trees part and Mount Hood appears it’s pretty AWESOME!

Timothy P — Google review

It was a fantastic place to spend a day in the snow. Timberland was an excellent hotel with great food and facilities. Worth the drive.

Jay — Google review

Mt. Hood is an absolute gem of the Pacific Northwest, offering breathtaking views and a challenging climb for adventurers. But it’s crucial to approach this mountain with respect. The conditions can be fierce — high winds, ice, and rapidly changing weather can catch you off guard. For anyone who’s inexperienced, I can’t stress enough the importance of proper training. Groups like the Mazamas and the Santiam Alpine Club offer excellent courses to help you prepare for the mountain’s unique challenges. They teach essential climbing techniques, rope skills, and avalanche safety — all of which are critical for navigating Mt. Hood’s terrain. The high winds near the summit can be intense, and the mountain demands your full attention and preparation. Don’t underestimate it based on photos of clear skies; weather conditions can shift fast. If you’re serious about climbing, take the time to train and learn from seasoned experts. With the right preparation, Mt. Hood can offer one of the most rewarding climbs out there, but it’s not a mountain to take lightly. Stay safe, climb smart, and make sure you’re ready for whatever the mountain throws at you!

The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is a stunning 80-mile canyon along the Columbia River, boasting breathtaking waterfalls and unique wildlife. It is one of the most photographed natural reserves in the United States. Visitors can enjoy a scenic drive along the oldest highway in the country, with stops at panoramic viewpoints including the Bonneville Dam Sturgeon viewing center. The area offers a variety of hiking trails suitable for different skill levels, some of which are wheelchair accessible.

The Columbia River Gorge national scenic area is responded with beauty and offers tourists and locals alike a truly unforgettable experience. It is super easy to get to these spots just outside of Portland city limits and is well worth the visit. It’s worth noting too that everything is free so it’s absolutely worth the value in experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Oregon!

Just some pictures on a cold day of the Stevenson Water front. Nice easy paved trails, with porta-potties during the winter and mostly clean bathrooms during the summer (depending on the nastiness of visitors). Decent parking and Tractor trailer trucks make frequent deliveries to the small scale industry in the area.

Thomas P — Google review

The hotel staff was pleasant, the room was clean and the landscape around the hotel was beautiful. The only recommendation I have is that they improve the general cleaning around the hotel. Floors were dirty and they never cleaned the tables in the lounge area. The two days I was there, all tables in the lounge were dirty and still has all the rings from the glasses of drinks. I witnessed a table of a family of four having breakfast, two adults and two children. When they finished eating breakfast, the waiter took the two coffee cups that were by the children and the-used them for the next table; mght be clean, might not. Not good practice. See pictures below. We had brunch and when they opened the dinning room, the floor still had food on the floor and looked like it hasn't been vacuumed in a while. No general dusting, like tables and lamps, and fixures. Brunch was done very well, with plenty to eat. Everything tasted great.

Brandon L — Google review

The Gorge is beautiful, specifically Multnomah Falls. But this picturesque landscape is also a tourist trap and definitely not a typical trail hike. It’s paved as you wind your way slowly to the top. And the majority of visitors were there for photos opps dressed in brunch outfits. So you have to exert patience while slowly meandering up the path. I suggest arriving early morning.

Kimatni R — Google review

Beautiful waterfall! It's unbelievable how tall it is. We got plenty of great pictures! They have several trail options so you can go higher and higher up as far as you want! The trail is paved and easy but it's kind of steep at some points.

Kiera D — Google review

Such a gorgeous place! You can take the scenic drive along the Columbia River and stop at each waterfall. Topping it all off with the majestic Multnomah Falls!

The Columbia River Gorge Historic Route is amazing; don't miss this beautiful drive and spend the day viewing waterfalls and enjoy the hiking trails. You can spend days viewing the area. It's beautiful! The views just cannot be captured in a photo.

The Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum (WAAAM) is a treasure trove for enthusiasts of vintage vehicles, showcasing an impressive collection of restored cars and planes from the 1920s and 1930s across two expansive hangars. Visitors may initially feel overwhelmed by the sheer size of the museum, which continues to grow with each visit. The dedicated staff and friendly volunteers enhance the experience, offering fascinating stories about the exhibits as they roam around on scooters.

Way better than 1st expected. This is a true gem.Give yourself time as there is way more to see and way more walking, but it's worth it.Guides are super friendly and knowledgeable.Check out the old electric cars. Also great flat parking

Amazing vehicles and planes! The volunteers are so passionate about educating visitors. We attended on a second Saturday where they offered rides to the public in vintage cars. Such a memorable experience!Do keep in mind that the museum is mostly visual so smaller kids may need breaks outside to get their wiggles out.

We went on a second Saturday and rode in a Detroit Electric and a Chevy Phaeton with my husband and kids. Excellent headlight presentation (kerosene and acetylene lamps), and an awesome presentation on plane restoration in the shop. My girls had a great pulled pork lunch and enjoyed seeing SO many planes and autos. This place is great for adults and kids, and there are always staff ready to share their incredible knowledge. I can't say enough good things about our time.

Absolutely fantastic museum, seriously a must see. An absolutely stunning collection of antique and vintage planes, automobiles, military vehicles and machines of nearly unimaginable scale and number. Photos do no justice.

WAAAM in Hood River is an absolute must-see! The collection of classic cars and airplanes is staggering — you need at least 3 hours to take it all in. I can't stress enough how cool this place is! Whether you're a car or aviation enthusiast, you'll be blown away. Go check it out!

Fantastic collection with a ton of history. Lots of pre-WW2 planes, vehicles, and toys. Amazing to see the donations the community has given and the stories to go along with them.

Cody S — Google review

One of my fave museums in the world. The epic collections, the beautiful location, and the Model T driving school and biplanes rides I've taken here, it's just glorious. Don't miss the great gift shop too, and leave a donation if you can. Seriously, this place is so amazing.

When searching fun places en route to our second hotel stay after leaving Mt Hood, we found Waaam. My son isn’t very into planes but he is obsessed with vintage cars. This places has tremendous to see. Staffs and volunteers are very friendly and informative. My son found his fave cars from 70s and 80s and get offered to sit in one of the cool cars from volunteers. We didn’t stay long since we need to heading to our hotel, but will definitely return soon. We were told second Saturday of every month they will get the engines running. Plus there will be special events in July and September.

The Mount Hood Railroad offers a delightful journey through the stunning Hood River Valley, with the iconic Mount Hood serving as a picturesque backdrop. This heritage railway, steeped in history and dating back over a century, originally connected local farmers and foresters to vital markets. Today, it invites visitors to experience its scenic excursions aboard vintage train cars from the early 1900s.

It was an awesome experience being on the Polar Express. The staff were very professional and friendly and you can totally tell that they love kids. ❤️Our son had a blast and he was so stoked to see Santa and his elves. We booked the VIP tickets and got a lot of souvenirs and gifts, totally worth the price with the experience. My son was so excited to see Santa's house and now he believes he saw the real Santa and that Santa gave him a magical Christmas bell ❤️Definitely recommend visiting if you have young little kids. ❤️

The Mt Hood Rail Bikes are a ton of fun! Going up hill is no problem since they are power assisted so anyone can do it. Going back down, you still have the power option but they let you go a bit faster. The crew is really friendly and everyone is in a great mood. You take a 45 minute break at the top to check out the Fruit Company gift shop and the winery across the parking lot. I highly recommend this little excursion in Hood River!

Had the Anniversary Trip of a Lifetime 🎉 What fun to be out in nature with the one you love! Krissy and Des and their 2 other Railbike experts made this So Fun and Easy. They have Cancellation insurance that I Highly recommend. We had our trip scheduled for a few days earlier but it ended up being a Miserable Rainy,Cold day,and they don't typically cancel for rain, but since we bought the Insurance I was able to cancel 24 hours ahead and received my refund within hours. Excellent service! We were super happy that they added some extra days to their end of the season schedule so we were able to reschedule! Mt.Hood Railroad "Team" is a well oiled machine . We appreciate all of you and will definitely return! They have Quite a few Train excursions as well that were going on while we were there,it looked super fun too..have to try that next time! Their Conductor was hilarious and clearly loved his Job and enjoyed sharing his love with his guests!Thank you for the Amazing Memories ❣️

We rode the Fall train and it was so much fun! We lucked out with a nice day of clear skies, which helped us be able to enjoy the beautiful trees and mountains. I'd highly recommend this for all ages - my mom and my 4 year old really enjoyed it!Also, the pre-ordered sandwiches were delicious.

HIGHLY recommend the rail bikes! One of the best things we did in Hood River! You can pedal as much or as little as you’d like, the views are incredible and our guide was AWESOME. This is a very well organized and unique adventure!

They were wonderful!! We had a few last minute changes and because we didn't buy the insurance we were almost out of luck. They are very strict on that policy. However, they did help us shift to another time and work things out.Overall it was a great experience and the views and ride was wonderful. We had a fantastic time and would ride again if we are in the area.

Chanell B — Google review

I have wanted to ride this train for years, and was so excited when my fiance and I finally decided to go and do some leaf peeping! Unfortunately, I somehow missed the notice that we were to arrive 30 minutes early, but we were thankfully able to make it onto the train (by the skin of our teeth). Every employee was kind and reassuring when they saw us sprinting to get on. Then, when we were on the train, the staff was fun, helpful, and kind.I learned a lot on the guided tour on the way to farm about the local railway and farming history. It was fascinating and well delivered! The farm was beautiful, and there was the perfect amount of time to explore/snack before boarding the train again. I loved the quiet ride back with coloring sheets and crossword puzzles. Our visit was on October 12th, and the leaves had only started change. Next time, if my goal is leaf peeping, I would go a bit later in the month. We both felt like we 100% got our money's worth, and agreed that we would love to ride the train again!

Looking for a unique outdoorsy adventure to share with a friend? Well the Mt. Hood Railroad rail bikes is it! I love this experience so much that I have gone 5 times between the summers of 2023 and 2024. Each time the team that managed the trip was friendly, informative and fun. You get to make this activity as strenuous or leisurely as you choose; easily switch between pedaling or using the electric option. Gliding along the trails through the varying landscape, often along a rushing river and passing by a small waterfall, is so beautiful. Nice to have a 45 minute interlude half way through to peruse the small Fruit Company store, and then relax on Adirondack chairs with a view of Mt. Hood while enjoying a flight of wine. I like to select the 3:00 pm ride so that my friend and I may enjoy a water view lunch at the Riverside Restaurant beforehand and then indulge in delicious ice cream at Mike's after our rail bike trip. A perfect day in my opinion!

We’ve done this run many times, and have had a full variety of guides in the process.Without question, River Drifters did a great job, and Caleb was ‘just what the doctor ordered’ as our guide! He especially (and other staff as well), explained every aspect of the trip beforehand and along the way…I felt we were well prepared for anything that might come our way.We had a fantastic time, and owe it to Caleb and the River Drifters Company!!The awesome sunset at the end of our adventure was the perfect icing on an excellent adventure! Thanks for reading, and Cheers,Dr. Randy

Had an incredible experience with River Drifters! From start to finish, everything was seamless, and our group had an absolute blast. The guides (Jada, Townsend, & Ryan) were top-notch and really made the trip special. I organized this outing for my company, and by lunchtime, the whole team was already talking about making it an annual tradition. Can't recommend River Drifters enough—fantastic job all around!

I just had my first-ever rafting experience, and it was absolutely spectacular! From start to finish, the entire trip was filled with excitement and breathtaking scenery. Our guide was phenomenal – not only incredibly knowledgeable but also super friendly and encouraging, which made me feel completely at ease. They made sure we all felt comfortable, explained every step clearly, and shared fun facts about the river and surrounding area. The balance between adrenaline-pumping rapids and peaceful moments to soak in the views was perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to rafting – highly recommend River Drifters for anyone, whether it’s your first time or you're a seasoned rafter!"Enjoy your next adventure! 😊

Amazing trip. River guide was awesome and knowledgeable. He knew and understood the river, surroundings and history of the area well. We took a multi day trip and our gear boat guide found a great camp for us both nights that were able to more than accommodate our needs and had things set up when we arrived.Oh, I feel the website underpromised and over delivered on quality of meals!

Our guide (Raeban) was so knowledgeable about the river and how maneuver our raft safely. He was awesome at giving us directions while making this adventure extremely fun. Lots of laughing and great memories. I was apprehensive at first due to small children and myself having a back surgery in the past. I was pleasantly surprised that our guide all along our trip thought of our safety and moved people on the calm parts to where we needed to be for safety and for making it the most enjoyable. There was times to get out to swim and times to do fun tricks in the raft like spinning, etc. But he gave you options for excitement or to not. We did! My back is feeling great and the Littles were so happy! It was also fun interacting with the other rafters and their experienced guides. I loved how all the guides and their rafts would watch out for other rafters involving safety and playing around. We will definitely be doing this again! Our age group was age 4 through 61 years. A perfect day!

Had the best time. Communication and expectations before the trip were complete. The people and guides working were knoledgable and so much fun. Paris our guide made us feel comfortable right away. Not only with her ability but her sense of humor and getting those who were new to rafting feel more comfortable. She was a great guide and we had so much fun. Safety was number one and she was very thorough in what we needed to do when, practiced and executed. Had an amazing time and will be looking into doing multiple day trips with them next! Highly recommend.

We had an excellent full day trip on the water with our 3 adults and 5 teens, what a blast! Johnny made our whole day so adventurous and fun. Having an interesting, funny guide made the whole day so much better. We got to make the trip as exciting as we wanted (VERY was our answer) and we felt safe and prepared for every rapid. The water slides were an unexpected added bonus. We’re already talking about our next trip! Thanks for an amazing day of memories Johnny and River Drifters.

Thanks to Nate, Sam and Tio for making this a special memory for our family! We were pampered and cared for with lots of fun and laughter. This was our second 3 day trip, and both were awesome. We talked about Caleb and Garrett who were our guides 4 years ago and the three named above will be in our stories for many years to come 😎👍

They offer a variety of trip options, catering to both tame and daring experiences. The company ensures COVID compliance and provides outstanding photography services to capture the adventure. Multiple testimonials confirm the expertise of their guides, making it a highly recommended choice for river outings.

I had never been rafting and was nervous. Especially because we were bringing our 7 year old son. Everything was great. Our guide, Paris, was fabulous with us an our son. She listened to our requests to go easy and it was very easy to follow her commands on the raft. We loved it and will be back. There was another boat in our group that flipped, but they went down a level 4 rapids. If you want to take it chill, talk to your guides before getting on the water. It was a day trip we will remember fondly always.

Been using this crew for a decade, although the owner of the original High Desert River Outfitters Co. Has passed and since has been bought out by Raft California I will try to support the new crew with continued dedication.

This is a company that has been in the business a long time and definitely knows what they are doing. Outstanding customer service, COVID compliant and some of the best guides available. The guide for our day trip was Zach Williams and not once did I question the safety of the hands we were in. Several other guides and rafters we encountered along the trip confirmed it by telling us "He's the best guide out here". Multiple trip options to choose from and the experience will be as tame or daring as you and your group chooses. It was so much fun and the pictures the company photographer took really captured it. My group and I are looking forward to the next one. I could not recommend this business more!

Did a half day trip, with Jim as our guide, and it was probably the best rafting trip I have been on (even though I got tossed out of the boat). Just a fun trip, and we will be coming back for a full day for sure.

We participated in the 3 day 2 night rafting/camping trip on the Lower Deschutes River. It was an amazing experience. Truly, the memories will last a lifetime!

My family (wife and two teenagers) were excited as well as apprehensive about white water rafting, that is until they met our guide, Kirk. Kirk, his positive energy and high level of skill truly made our trip one to remember. Our son is autistic and while he enjoys adventure, we thought this might be pushing the envelope. Nope. Kirk caught on fast and made sure to help our son feel capable, included and best of all, Kirk made sure Connor had a great time. We can't wait to head back next summer! Hopefully we get Kirk again.

I've never been whitewater rafting before, but this trip will definitely make me a regular! I plan to go back every summer now! Our guides were amazing and the Groupon price was a steal.

Went this past Friday and was treated to an entire days worth of rafting and a great lunch. The entire staff was friendly and fun. Be prepared to jump off rocks, swim down the “swimmers rapids”, and raft into a refreshingly crisp Deschutes River! Our guide Amanda was incredible. She made the trip one to remember. Would definitely recommend.

The Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum is an engaging museum that delves into the history of the gorge, from its formation by cataclysmic floods to the challenges faced by pioneers as they traversed it. The exhibits cover early settlements, transportation in the area, and the impact of dams. The Lewis and Clark wing features a display on animals encountered during their expedition and offers a daily bird of prey educational program with live raptors.

We visited the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum yesterday, and both my husband and I absolutely loved it! The exhibits are fascinating and beautifully curated, offering a perfect blend of history, nature, and culture. The interactive displays and detailed information kept us engaged the entire time. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The views of the Gorge from the museum are breathtaking—a perfect backdrop to an already amazing experience. We can’t recommend this place enough!

This museum has a spectacular view😍 not many people know about this place, but it is definitely worth visiting. Many interesting exhibits and historical facts about this area. From the territory of the museum there is an amazing view of the Columbia River gorge👍🏼 Price - 12$.

I like museums in general, so take my excitement with a grain of salt! This museum was super fun! The sections were mainly dedicated to the PNW and history (geological and human) of the Gorge. I really loved it! These sections covered Ice Age & how it shaped the current day Columbia Gorge, native American history of the Gorge, Lewis and Clark expedition, recreation of little pieces like camera, car, boats, etc. that were once used in this gorgeous Gorge. I easily spent close to two hours here. They also have a kids section which I didn’t really checkout. I loved the small owl enclosure! There are 3 enclosures, but I could see only one owl. The museum gift shop has some interesting trinkets, many of which seem to be made locally. Do checkout the walkways surrounding the center! There are some great views out at the back! There is a fee of 9$ for adults. Also, there is plenty of parking at the center!

This place is amazing! My son is 3 and wasn't at the age of appreciation of the exhibits but he definitely enjoyed running around. We loved the exhibits. But I definitely have a deep appreciation of the staff, especially Tiffany Bates who went above and beyond for me and my family to celebrate my Mother's life! She and all the staff was so helpful to us, and really just amazing to give us such a proper celebration! We will definitely be visiting again on our travels! Thank you definitely rate 10+ ❤️

Can't say enough about this Center, they've done such a great job of bringing not only the history of the Lewis & Clark Expedition which opened up the West for America, but Indigenous Peoples and their tribe culture.Their museum shop is outstanding, bought some unique gifts there and am hoping they put their store online -big undertaking, but they deserve it for the quality of the items there. Could've spent a lot more, but do take the time to go thru the exhibits. Fascinating. Thanks for a memorable experience, next I'm up there I will go back. It was that awesome!

This spot is STUNNING. The scenery and discovery center are absolutely beautiful. I loved learning about the raptors and watching the demonstrations with the animals. The proximity to the bike path was fantastic for exploring nearby restaurants and enjoying beautiful views of the gorge we just learned about. We found an awesome little brewery with amazing food just a few minutes down the path.

I so enjoyed my visit to this museum today! A must stop for anyone traveling through the area, as it encompasses information about the area from the Ice Age period, through the native peoples, past and present, and Lewis and Clark. I especially enjoyed the Wasco County Museum section. All of their exhibits are varied and informative, and they have worked very hard to make everything "Covid proof" during this period of time. The friendly lady at the desk was very helpful in helping me understand the voyage of the Chatham after Grey's exploration at the mouth of the Columbia. I did question two items though... the page about the size of the Nebraskan Camel in the Ice Age section, and the date of the painting by Eliza Barchus of Multnomah Falls... would love if the curator could look into these 🙂 As it appears my photos with descriptions did not post, let me elaborate... the Nebraskan Camel was stated to be 12 feet tall, yet the illustration comparing him to a camel of today makes it look like our camels are only 4 feet tall. If you didn't read the print, the illustration makes the Nebraskan Camel look 25 to 30 feet tall. Which is it? Then the painting is labeled "Multnomah Falls, 1898"... I don't believe this is correct because the bridge was not built until 1914. Ms. Barchus lived from 1857 to 1959 so residing in Portland, I'm sure she very well saw the bridge. Thank you.

I stopped by for a enjoyable lunch on Wednesday, August 7th after spending the morning touring the near by Maryhill Museum. While $22 is a bit on the expensive side for 3 pulled pork sliders. They were delicious! Made even better by the 2 side dishes. The coleslaw with pineapple, gives it a flavorful twist. The Macaroni and cheese was also a tasty treat with a bit of "heat". But not over powering. Personally, I'd like to have bought some to go, to take home with me!I highly recommend the $30 wine flight / tasting, featuring 7 different varieties of their wine.Note, that the $30 wine tasting fee is "waved" with a $40 wine purchase!! Seems like a winner to me!!Lastly they are pet freindly with dogs allowed on the padio / deck. The freindly staff even made sure my pal, Yoshi's water dish was filled!Bottom line? This is a must stop when touring / traveling thru the Columbia River gorge!!

Amazing views of the Columbia Gorge and Mt. Hood from the expansive outdoor deck. The indoor tasting room is attractive and comfortable. The wine flight is included in a $25 wine purchase. I enjoyed the Salmon Cakes. Very friendly service. Recommend.

I don't know which I like better - the wine or the view! Thankfully when you visit you don't have to choose, you get both. The wines are really good. The tasting bar is beautiful and has plenty of space for many tasters at once. The servers are always friendly and attentive even though they are juggling many customers - the place always seems pretty busy! I always enjoy the tasting, but what really makes the visit superb is buying a glass to enjoy on the patio. The views are incredible! This trip was unique for us as there was a layer of snow amid the vines and snow on the hillsides around the Columbia - just amazing. I had a limit of one bottle per winery stop during this trip as we were travelling in our Truck Camper and we have to be aware of the vehicle weight.... and then oops.... we bought 2 cases, where is that going to go? We will visit again soon!

Been there a couple times, used to be nice. Went in July and they changed the way the staff/serving works. The girl neglected to tell us we have to go to the podium to order wine. Sat there 10+ mins before she remembered us. The two wines we wanted to try they didn’t have a bottle open so it wasn’t an option. Spendy and not sure why I tipped with bottle purchase. Won’t be returning.

Remote mansion with a diverse collection, including Rodin sculptures & Native American artifacts.

I visited the morning of Wednesday, August 7th...Totally enjoyed my visit! Both touring the Museum and walking the grounds with Yoshi (Husky rescue).Because of Yoshi. I arrived when the museum opened, too take of advantage of lower summer temperatures. When I mentioned this to one of the staff members, at the front desk, as I paid my entry (only $16) They offered to let me park in a employee parking lot in the shade. This rates as a BIG THANK YOU!!I would allow at least 4 hours (a morning or afternoon) to tour the Museum. It's very well laid out and I found myself reading every information card accompanying each piece of art or historical item...On my next visit. I'll be sure to bring a friend. So we can take advantage of the large chess set available for play in the new addition / lower gallery!I purposely didn't post any photos of the artwork inside the museum. As I highly recommend you make the trip for yourself (with friend or family), to this gem of the gorge...

An interesting and eclectic museum in the Columbia River gorge area, originally built as a private mansion. The collection of native American Indian is in my opinion the finest collection there. Most unusual is the miniature fashion display that was from the years after World War 2 as a way to showcase the work of French fashion designers when cloth and materials were in short supply.I noted the extremely fine filigree workmanship of some of the silver pieces that were donated by the Romanian queen who was befriended by the builder of the mansion. Also I appreciated the varied designs in the chess sets collection.

I wanted to visit this museumfor years to view their largeNative American collectionand other interesting exhibits. You will find a nice exhibit fromMarie, Queen of Romania withmany personal items and areplica of her coronationcrown. The August Rodin Gallery hasa large selection of his worksincluding watercolor sketchesand bronzes. The Native American collectionhas baskets, wood carvings, and other items from Alaska, the Columbia River Plateau, theHopi, and many other tribes. The museum has a numberof other permanent exhibitsincluding Sam Hill, the founderof the museum, and on LoieFuller, who told Hill that he should build an art museumin his new mansion.A replica of Stonehenge isa few miles away and is aWar Memorial to the fallensoldiers of WW 1 from thelocal area.Located near Goldendale onWashington Highway 14E inthe Columbia Gorge. One of the great regionalmuseums with exhibits fromaround the world, includinga great Native Americancollection, a very interestingexhibit from Romania, theRodin Gallery, and Frenchsmall-scale high fashion manquins.

Definitely a hidden treasure specially the Rodin room and the views over the Columbia river. The nearby Stonehenge replica is also great location for interesting pictures. Definitely worth visiting a few times since one visit will not do justice; also a great place to take visitors too.

A stunning museum, with gorgeous views and interesting history. A wonderful display of local native art, ancient and contemporary, is just one of the amazing areas of this museum. Plan to spend some time here. Even the grounds are beautiful, with plenty of room to walk Fido or have a picnic. Plenty of parking for big RV's too.

Kimmi C — Google review

Great small museum in an out of the way place. Maryville has a great collection of art, across multiple mediums, including sculptures by Rodin, who spent a lot of time here early in the last century when it was still a home. Just the history of the house and the people that lived there is interesting. And the views! Beautiful views from everywhere, not to mention just the drive down the Columbia Gorge. An easy two hour drive from Portland - it is worth the trip.

Camilla P — Google review

I went up here last week with my family. It turned out to be a very nice experience. It was off season, so we mostly had the place to ourselves. The sculpture garden was neat and the views off the cliff of the Columbia River and snow-covered Mt. Hood were great. The museum itself was neat. I particularly enjoyed the Rodin and Native American exhibits along with the Art Nouveau and Eastern Orthodox exhibits. We made it over to the mini Stonehenge, which was nice. It is worth a walk down to Sam Hill's grave from there also. I also recommend staying in a good Inn in The Dalles and not locally. It is worth the little drive from there. Plus, you can check out The Dalles old town if you have the time.

I was gifted a stay in a suite at the Casino. It was beautiful, clean, spacious, the mattress and bedding were very comfortable and the Jacuzzi style bathtub was the best!! . My husband and I drove out of town to spend our Anniversary night at the casino hotel. We had planned to spend the day at the casino, enjoy the restaurants and use the other amenities. We booked our stay online the day before. When we booked our stay, we entered the date we needed (09/21-22/2024), selected the 2 number of guests then proceeded to view the rooms. Once we reserved our room and paid for it, we were all set.Not so.We did not realize until we arrived at the casino the day after we made our reservations that the date had defaulted back to the day we made the reservation as we were viewing the different rooms. So the day that we paid for the reservation was actually the day we made our reservation, not the next day.The young guy at the hotel check-in was rude. We asked to speak to a manager and he told us there was no manager at the facility that day. Really?! He then proceeded to tell us there was nothing they could do. Not even offer us another room at a discounted rate since we were already there and had traveled to visit. We called to speak to a manager when we left. He answered the phone.Once we got out to our car, I looked online to see if I could find someone that was in a different role, that could help us resolve this.I left two messages with two different people, Letisha Peterson, the General Manager and Carlos Villarreal, Director of Operations. We have heard nothing. We would not recommend this casino to anyone. Our experience with the staff was horrible. In response to response below, we have not received any call or email from you. I will be calling today in hopes to get this resolved.Kati

Clean rooms, quiet building but there aren’t microwaves in the rooms. Use the hair dryer to heat up your food 😂Mini fridge is a bit smaller compared to what other hotels have.Blankets are thin and pillows are way too fluffy. They don’t have extra pillows that aren’t fluffy, best bring your own.No free breakfast, but the coffee shop is good.

Jasmine A — Google review

Rooms are big, clean, and comfortable. The prices for food court items, coffee shop, and the nearby gas station are great, feels like it's still pre-2020 in that aspect! Room prices and table game rates were reasonable as well for a Saturday non-event night. I loved that it was a smoke-free casino but did miss having the opportunity to have a cocktail while playing cards since this is also a dry facility. That side, I'd come back again to stay and play if passing through the area.

Amanda V — Google review

We tried to open our room 3 times already, and the key cards won't work. The front desk said to wait for a housekeeper in case the 3rd set didn't work. The 3rd set did not work. And no housekeeper came to check. We flagged a housekeeper down who was cleaning a different room, and they tried the door with their master key and said the door battery was dead. They couldn't radio downstairs, so we had to go back down AGAIN to get a new room and set of keys.I'm physically disabled with nerve damage and walk with a cane. Going back and forth back down to the lobby 4 times was ridiculous. Bad start to our vacation weekend. Finally, we got into a room. The room is clean, but the view consists of the roof of the casino building. The coffee machine looked like it had never been cleaned or descaled, so we didn't use it. One lamp's USB port was broken, alarm next to bed didn't work, the TV remote and system were hard to navigate, so we didn't use it. It was pretty disappointing. The Friday night buffet looked decent, but a lot of the food was lukewarm at best when we got it to the table.Tried the slots and lost 40 dollars on the first machine, so we stopped.Went and saw a comedy show at the Event Center and had front row seats but the seats were so far to the right and under the giant screen. It's not the same seating chart as shown on Ticketmaster. It shows more of a C shape where the chairs would have angled around the stage. The headliner literally walked on the giant speakers in front of us once just to comment on the odd seating situation.I don't plan on going to any other events at this casino/hotel if I can help it unless major changes happened.

Howard Amon Park, situated on the Columbia River in Richland, Washington, offers a variety of recreational activities for visitors. The park features tree-lined walking paths, tennis courts, and a playground for children of all ages. Additionally, it provides access to the river for fishing, boating, kayaking, and swimming.

Beautiful park. I've been going to this beautiful park for decades! I know there are probably lots of people upset about them recently removing the swimming dock, but I think it was a good move due to the boats and water craft in the area and the with the river cruise boat that docks there, I don't believe it is a good place for kids or adults to be swimming. They have a nice swimming area down at Leslie Groves Park in north Richland.

We love this very expansive waterfront park. Our GSP gets to see the squirrels, birds, and geese, while we get a leisurely walk in the plush grass or sidewalk. Bicyclists are usually very friendly and stay to one side as do joggers. With plenty of up close parking, it's perfect for even a quick outing for the dog...

A great park any time of year. And it’s only 3-4 min drive from the hospital, so it’s great if you have a wait. There is also a gallery/gift shop right next to it.It has tennis courts, awesome playgrounds (one for 5-12 year olds, one for 2-5 year olds), all of the park benches are swinging benches, a boulder/rock climbing area), a music area with mallet percussion, a water front walking path, and a amphitheater. Beautiful views throughout. You can easily spend 30 minutes or many many hours there. Lots of tress for shade. It even had an AED on site for emergencies! I think there is also a concession stand, perhaps open during summer months. It’s also next door to the community center.Park seems clean and well maintained.

4th of July was packed! On a normal day though it's been perfect. My 4 year old loves the wading pool, (which is about a foot deep and fully fenced) and my older boys love swimming in the river! There is kind of a drop off of big rocks to climb down to get to the river in most spots, FYI.

Lakeside aquatic park with a large pool, 3 slides, a river for tube floating & a surfing simulator.

Great way to cool down on a hot day. My kids absolutely loved the park. Admission fee was reasonably priced. Felt safe with all the life guards that are constantly on duty. Outside food is allowed but there is also a place that sells food their as well. We got a chocolate/vanilla swirl ice cream cone and some authentic tacos but there is a lot more to choose from. We loved the lazy river and splash pad area. We had a great family fun day!

I came here for the first time last week with my sister visiting from out of town. The two of us "mature" women had a blast! We went on the water slides, the high dive, lazy river and I surfed, well body surfed! I would highly recommend this place to anyone of any age. The grounds were meticulous!

We started truly appreciating this water park in 1995 when we lived in Mattawa. We have visited many years since. It was a treat yesterday for our grandkids. The place is clean, family friendly, spacious and had many activities for kids and adults of all ages. The lazy river was fun for us, and the big pool. Tried our hand at the 🏄‍♂️ surf feature as well. Grace at the waiver booth was so kind and patient! A+ employee! Peace of mind with so many lifeguards. They allow coolers and food to be brought in if you prefer! But also have purchased food. It was a fun place to visit again.Thank you for a great time! We will be back!

Great family fun! Awesome spot to go with family, clean, water is always perfect. It has a lazy River, large swimming areas, diving boards, surf stimulator, shallow pool section for young children, sand box with toys, 2 sand volleyball courts, great slides. Bring your own food cooler but if you don’t no worries there’s vendor options. It’s a safe place for all ages.

Ivy G — Google review

It's a great family water park. Slides for every age. Water stream tubing. Water spirts..statues for little ones. Shallow and deep end pools. Surfing water area. 4 and under free. You can bring in your own food. They sell food there as well. Hamburgs, nachos, carne asada fries and tacos. Great ice cream cones. Alot of shading.

Esmeralda F — Google review

Well maintained water park only a 20 min drive from our campground. Plenty of parking and plenty of chairs and picnic tables. Although you can bring your own food/drinks and snacks there's a hamburger/tacos and ice-cream stand. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. There's an indoor community shower with soap but be aware before you decide to shower your kiddos the water is really hot and you have to keep pushing for more every minute. I guess is only to rinse yourself but used it in between playing in the pool to warm me up lol! Kids under 2 are free and between 2 to 5 are $8 The rest is $16. You can reentry with outside food anytime. There's a grass area where you can put a blanket or your own chairs or tent if you decid to bring them. Bring your own towels or by some at their shop which also sells sunglasses and other waters accessories.

Adriana S — Google review

Everything was great, the guards were nice, and lines were short, also very kid friendly good for kids of any age.

Amy M — Google review

My family and I have been going here for years. If you've never been it's really an amazing place to go to enjoy a nice hot day away from the city. You pay once to get in, and you get an all-day stamp. You can bring in a cooler with food things you want to cook right there because they have BBQ grills available, just bring your own coal. People are super friendly and literally you can spend an entire day here.

Fantastic destination, bright, open and spacious casino, great vibes, just beautiful. A spacious non-smoking Poker room with windows that can see the rest of the casino. A great evening lounge, connected to a nice outdoor patio with tables as well, a quiet coffee cafe on the second floor with a great view of the desert, via floor to ceiling windows, fun vibe amongst the table games. Beautiful hotel and outdoor pool.

The staff is incredibly friendly and the rooms are pretty clean! I put $65 into one of the machines at a .50$ bet and not one bonus… my biggest win was a $1.32 … if you gotta have your machines that tight I won’t be back… all the way from Boise to get beat up by a machine that took $65 in less than a half hour without a bonus or a win more than $1.32 … that sucks!

If I could give a 0 or - number I would due to the customer service being less than superb in the bowling alley. There for a family oriented company Xmas party and pretty much scolded by a younger gal as if we were out to break rules when 1 not everyone wanted the bumpers however not told that if we didn't want them or if they were for someone over 10yrs of age we couldn't have em and just bit our heads off in front of the kids 2 scolding us and the kids they couldn't use balls 8, 7 or 6 if we were under the age of 10 when kids that were under the age of 10 but to her didn't look under 10 thatThey couldn't use the smaller balls. Of course telling people like myself who have always used a smaller ball due to strength that I couldn't use a smaller ball until I confronted her. The company that I was there with has gone to this establishment for years and has not had this poor of customer service EVERY. Train these people better.

Was there for an annual bequett and it never disappoints. The room is nice and two adults can easily get ready for a night out. Bowling movies and an archide safely keep the kids busy while parents hit the slots. The pool area was nice but they are remodeling and expanding so I was grateful for the working hot tub and dry sana. Drinks are great food is good, prices are reasonable and the staff is great, The staff are friendly, helpful and make you feel welcome.

I went up the chain and gave the hotel ample opportunity to make things right by us and they failed. So I’m here to write the review I promised them.We stayed here a couple of weeks ago and were met with a VERY unsanitary situation that was not handled properly. Within minutes of checking in we noticed a gentleman waiting for the elevator in front of us had left human feces all over the floor, from the pool to the elevator, inside the elevator and who knows where else on the way to his room. There were very visible areas of human poop all over the white tile floor in front of the elevator and flooring in very busy walking areas of the resort. I notified staff immediately. Nothing was done about it for over 3 hours. I had to talk to three different people. For 3 hours this hotel let human poop be tracked around the building. The only reason it was finally cleaned up was because I threatened the less than friendly manager with the health department. This place is not clean or sanitary. I tried very hard to give them the benefit of the doubt but after speaking to a very high up manager that offered zero compensation or resolution to our unpleasant stay, I have decided to give the review they deserve. It’s gross. It was gross. Our stay was ruined and they don’t care at all. I will say the casino and bar are fun, we enjoyed Wildhorse until this was so poorly handled. I’m bummed to say that we won’t be back because of the way this was handled. They clearly care more about the money than a guests experience.

We stayed at RV park. Really nice, great bathrooms with showers. Golfing here is a golfers dream. Good greens, fairways are really nice. Staff in restaurant and pro shop are nice, efficient and great food. We golf 2-3 times a year, love this course and business.

Wildhorse has been on my list to check out for years, and I finally had a reason to go to Eastern Oregon and check it.The gaming is good, pretty standard stuff. It's a very large floor of slot machines, and a good handful of table games. Including $5 blackjack. There are plenty of dining options. On the day we went, there was a prime rib special that was delicious and filling.I would rate this among other Oregon casinos at Spirit mountain and seven feathers of being in the top tier available in this state.

Zach P — Google review

A snowstorm closed the pass for what turned out to be 18 hours. We got gas, lunch, watched a movie in the theater, dinner, and got a room at the resort. At 6 am we could hear the trucks starting. We knew the pass had opened. Breakfast was available and we were on our way. It was a good enough experience that we plan to stop again this year even if the pass is open.

Nestled within the expansive Fort Walla Walla Park, the Fort Walla Walla Museum is a captivating destination that offers a glimpse into the rich history of the United States Army fort. The museum's 15-acre site features four exhibit halls showcasing an array of military weapons, artifacts, antique vehicles, firefighting equipment, agricultural tools, and textiles. Additionally, visitors can explore a 17-building pioneer village and enjoy engaging living history performances and children's programs.

Excellent museum! Love the amount of information & artifacts the museum had on display. We were fortunate enough to have a volunteer waiting for a group provide us information when we arrived in the room with horses/ steam engine, water wagon. This would be so worth a personal tour although you can download an audio guide that is well worth doing.

Danette K — Google review

I enjoyed this place so much! I love history, especially about the area I live. There are over 20 buildings to see and more artifacts than you can count. It's focus is the history of the Walla Walla area from when the first settlers arrived until the 1960's. The agricultural achievements, interacting with Indian tribes from all over Eastern Washington, to the forming of the original government, it's all here. There are video interactive displays. ( Do the one for the penitentiary!) My favorite part was the Pioneer village. A collection of real buildings that were donated to, and moved to the museum. They are so cool! Hard to imagine living in such small places! I grew up in, and still live in the Pacific Northwest. My dad took me to every museum and dam we could find. I did the same with my daughter. Places like this create lifelong family memories. I highly recommend it. Admission prices are $12 adult. $10 senior or student. $5 kids 6-12. Free kids 5 and under.

This museum was absolutely fascinating. It had some amazing exhibits and showcases the history of Walla Walla as a key stop on the Oregon Trail so well. With so many people visiting Walla Walla I was surprised that it wasn’t busy. The lady at reception was so helpful and interesting. Don’t miss it!

Very very much worth a visit! Some of the museum items are absolutely fascinating. For example this weird giant water barrel on wheels. Also they’ve done an incredible job assembling old log cabins and other structures in one place.

Had an excellent time with my daughter and her fourth grade class. Anita, our guide (docent), led us through the exhibits and gave us background and context for all of the pieces. Everything was clean, the staff in the gift shop was friendly, and there was a lot to see both inside and out. We appreciated the A/C in the main building and the nicely kept grounds outside. The play structure was fun to have as well (although a little full with so many students).

Sarah L — Google review

A delightful experience walking through the exhibits here, and we especially enjoyed the pioneer village featuring real historical cabins brought from around the state. We learned so much about Walla Walla history, especially military and medical. There’s an exhibit on the state penitentiary too! Welcoming staff and clean facilities - I highly recommend you plan a visit here!

Claire P — Google review

This museum is not part of the national or state park system. It is a locally-run museum, and admission is only $10 for adults. The exhibits are very well done and informative. It would take almost a whole day to see the whole museum and all it's outdoor buildings. For anyone interested in local history this is a great place to visit.

Palouse Falls - Washington's official state waterfall! Put it on the list. Palouse Waterfall is a great waterfall to visit. The drive is wonderful. The views are amazing. This waterfall is a little unique in that your only accessible view is from the top. There is some hiking available probably a mile tops. It does have a tendency to be windy like most of Eastern Washington so bring your kite. There is a nice park if you planned ahead and packed a picnic. This is particularly a great place for kids as it was grade school kids that helped draft the bill to make Palouse Falls the state waterfall....Kids can create governmental change.Discover Pass Required

Edwin R — Google review

Palouse Falls is the official waterfall for Washington State . It is about 105 acres of sheer beauty that falls off into a canyon carved by the Ice Age . They have upgraded the safety of the trails so that all three viewing points are safe . It's one of the few places where I can take disabled and elderly relatives to see good views of the falls . The trail is short enough for children and older dogs . I spotted a groundhog, and there were other small creatures and butterflies. The fall is spectacular around spring with the snow melt . However, this visit was in high summer, so less water was flowing down . The Canyon is beautifully carved by the Ice Age into a work of art .There are several picnic areas , ample bathrooms , a drinking fountain, and green area. I set up a corn hole game in the green area as well as a picnic. There were many places for great selfies and romantic photos. This would be a great place to get engaged , then head to the beautifully restored Pasco Court house to get registered or marry, surrounded by marble staircases and ornate Victorian stained glass. The Palouse Waterfall is well worth visiting, and the country drive is calming , with spectacular sunsets over the rolling hills kissed in sagebrush, wild sunflowers, and the occasional tumbleweed .

Amaze to see the layered rock bed. Ice age Rockies. Easy to park and get chance to do off roading drive on gravel road for 4 miles to reach to the parking. Picnic seating were there to enjoy good meal.Overall, an exciting historical experience.

Wowza...such a stunning waterfall. You would never know this was tucked back in the miles of surrounding wheat fields. This was a great side trip on our road trip. It was just 8 miles off of the main highway, through the wheatfields and old barns along the way. Beautiful views, viewpoints, walking paths, restrooms, picnic tables, shade, and ample parking. There is a trail that takes you on the other side of the canyon. There is no river access from the park (only cliffs).Parking permits are required. There was a pay station on site.

Tammy S — Google review

Wonderful state park where Palouse Falls is located! It's steep and there are trails around the area where you can see the falls in different angles. There are bathrooms and picnic areas available. Worth the stop-by to see the beautiful Palouse Falls!

Lennon G — Google review

Wonderful park with beautiful views of the falls and up-close marmot experiences 😅 seriously, those little guys would eat food out of your mouth if they could. There are port-a-potties, which aren't great but they do have a lot so at least you don't have to wait long for a sub-par bathroom experience. There is plenty of parking, at least when I was there. The trails go RIGHT to the edge of the cliffs, so this is not the place for people with unsteady balance. And most of the paths are uneven so not a great place for people with mobility challenges. The fences make great viewing and picture places, as well as chances to view the marmot trails down the cliffs, almost feels like a zoo that way. The rangers were kind and knowledgeable. There are picnic benches and tables and it's a great picnic spot, all in all, 10/10 recommend and would go again!!

One of the most beautiful Nature’s gem in the WA state but with a whole different landscape of evergreen state. This is in the midst of country side rocky landscape. Palouse falls are the natural formation from the Ice Age. The hike towards the river view is beautiful. It’s about ~2 miles round trip, moderate hike. There are areas where there is no railing but enough signage to remind you to stay on the path and away from cliffs. The top and bottom views of the falls will leave you in the awe with rainbow colors appearing naturally with sunshine. sunrise and sunset hours make the skies amazing. A definitely must visit to experience this side of the WA state and its natural beauty!!You may encounter snakes during the hike. We saw one making its way into the grass. We also saw coyote on the farms nearby on the way there just a few miles before. From the highway, to enter the falls area - There is about 2.5 miles one way road which is all gravel so a right vehicle will be a lot of help. There’s little/no signal at all once you enter this offroad. Discover pass is needed.

This scenic, 150-acre natural monument is known for panoramic views from its 3,612-ft. butte.

What a gem of a place to find in the Palouse that yields amazing views of the surrounding area. The views were stunning. It's hard to see the topography of the area when just driving through, but this view does it! The road is a little rough, so take your time driving up. Bring some camp chairs and enjoy lunch with a view. I can imagine that sunrises and sunsets are spectacular.

Tammy S — Google review

Wow, what can I say? It looks like a big hill in the middle of the Palouse. That is, until you start driving up. I'm not afraid of heights, but the hairpin turns are kinda interesting, especially if you have to pass another car. If you drive out to "the butte" you might want to bring a lunch and a jacket. The view is awesome. There was a chilly breeze the day I took my trek. Cool enough for a sweat shirt. Be prepared. There is an overlook area to take in the grandeur of the Palouse. And, looks are really deceiving. I thought, well "butte" you don't look so intimidating! Wait till you get to the top! But here's the challenge. There are a lot of inconspicuous pot holes throughout the asphalt road to the top. Drive slow! You definitely don't want a flat tire half-way up or torn off oil pan, in the middle of nowhere. Also, I almost forgot, a park pass is needed.

Isabella S — Google review

The drive is quite challenging. Just take it slow and steady and you'll have a treat of breathtaking views. Best to visit before November and after March.

Long N — Google review

Me and my cat spent a wonderful afternoon here! I suggest the best timing of arrival should be 6 or a bit later. Then you can wait until 8:30 for the sunset. Sunset is the best ever. So peaceful and picturesque!

ZT W — Google review

Beautiful views of the surroundings. See a 360 degee view of mountains on the horizon and lots of agricultural fields. Great sunsets, too. The road to the top is very rough in spots. Popular Park, the state needs to work on the road to fill in potholes and fix some rough spots.

Robert B — Google review

Honestly until I saw the Palouse I thought it wouldn't be worth the drive. I was so wrong! The view was gasp-worthy. Not just from the butte from from anywhere in the region. But, it's definitely worth driving to the top of the butte.Speaking of the drive, at the park entrance I drove past a sign that read, "Roads not maintained in winter". I laughed and said, "Roads not maintained AT ALL!" I don't blame the park system - not enough funding! - but anyway, do prepare yourself for pothole-dodging as you make your way up the steptoe. And if you are afraid of heights, do not sit on the passenger side of your vehicle - ohmygosh! Very few guardrails to make you feel safe from the abyss. As someone else said, there's a toilet and picnic area at the base, and a toilet and a long bench for seating at the top. It's annoying that there's ugly cell/microwave equipment at the top, but hey, cell phone reception is great!TIPS: If it's windy (which is very likely! it was windy all 4 times we went up), listen for the musical tones that emanate from the holes in the bollards that border the top parking lot. The bollards have no cables in them, and it's sort of like the "pop bottle experience" of blowing (the wind) through the hole to make a tone. Ethereal!

Went to see F-35 jets on way to Spokane for an airshow. What a treat. Also saw yellow Air Tractors spraying fields. Many reasons this place must be seen in Spring and Summer seasons.

Richard B — Google review

This is a super beautiful place, whether you are visiting when the wheat fields are all green or when it is all yellow and dry. On a sunny day, you can see miles upon miles of wheat fields at the top of the hill. When I was there, I even saw a baby cougar, which was AWESOME. The view is awesome, the wildlife is awesome, I highly recommend coming here.

The park is well-maintained and provides a peaceful escape right in the heart of the city. The highlights for us was the Riverfront, where visitors can enjoy the beauty of the river, bridges, and cascading waterfalls. There are plenty of areas for picnicking, cycling, or just relaxing by the water.During the summer months, the park comes alive with events and festivals, adding to its vibrant atmosphere. The surrounding area has a variety of dining options, shops, and cultural venues, making it easy to make a full day of your visit.Overall, it is a wonderful place to unwind, explore, and appreciate the natural beauty of the region. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or a place to engage in outdoor activities, this park delivers an enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.

The garbage goat was worth the visit. I knew when we were going to Spokane for a weekend I wanted to check it out. I was worried after reading about lots of homeless in the park but I don't know if it was because of the snow or what bit there were no homeless and it was beautiful. We walked around a little until the snow really picked up but we loved the interesting way of keeping the park clean with the goat

Plenty of paths to explore. City crew does a good job of keeping the area clean. Walkable and mostly flat. There’s an ice skating rink (seasonal), carousel, and gondola.

One of the best river fronts in the country. If you’re looking for the ultimate blend of natural beauty, family fun, and some magic, Spokane Riverfront Park is a must-visit. This is, hands down, one of the best riverfront parks in the country—offering a lot for all ages. What Makes Riverfront Park Unforgettable:•A Labyrinth of places to walk: With bridges and trails winding through the park, every turn feels like a new adventure. Whether you’re strolling, biking, or chasing kids, there’s always more to explore.•Playgrounds galore: there seems to be a playground on each corner and are engineered for different ages, there a several benches to watch the kids (you’ll be better off joining them), and spots to have lunch.•Family activities: a charming carousel straight out of your childhood, and the sky ride tram that gives you breathtaking, up-close views of the falls. (Pro tip: it’s the spot for a memorable selfie.)During the holidays, this park transforms into a winter wonderland with tree lighting ceremonies, vendor events, and festive extras like holiday Holoplex glasses that make every light twinkle. And let’s not forget the ice skating rink—it’s like a Hallmark (minus the queso 🧀)movie come to life.•Epic Views in Every Season: From roaring waterfalls to serene riverbanks, you’ll never run out of Insta-worthy moments. Add in its prime downtown location, and you’re steps away from great food and shopping. This is an obvious must and without the fuss of bigger cities.Hot tips:* 🅿️ consider parking 3-4 blocks away if during a weekend or busy season. You get in some steps and avoid some traffic.*Take the sky ride during the day time (kind of obvious).*During the holidays check out the massive tree in the mall next door.*Head to the Flat Stick Pub before 8pm with the fam for pizza slices, mini golf, and many brews on tap.*Petunias & Loomis is an oddity experience like no other!

From Seattle, we came to visit my younger cousin in college. The riverfront park was the perfect day adventure. Beautiful sights, dining options and easy parking. Clean & safe atmosphere. Planning on coming back to stay for a few days with other family members

Beautiful place. Jaw dropping views. There is so much to see here, including homeless people smoking meth right in front of everyone (hence the reason I didn't give it a five-star).

Joe M — Google review

Beautiful park in the center of town. Spokane River runs through it and the falls portions that dammed and power a hydropower plant. Beautiful views of the river, the falls, lush vegetation, an amazing old bridge. What a gem in the middle of the historic city center!

Nice downtown park, very busy on a beautiful August afternoon when I visited. Great river/fall views.

Manito Park, a 78-acre park opened in 1904, is a stunning outdoor recreation and leisure area in Spokane. The park features various gardens such as rose, lilac, formal, and native plant gardens along with a picturesque pond. With its immaculately tended terrain spanning 90 acres, including an arboretum, conservatory, and botanical gardens named after the Algonquin word "manitou," meaning fundamental life force animating all things.

This park is gorgeous! I went in early September while visiting my sister and it was beautiful but I can't wait to visit in the spring when all the gardens are in full bloom! There are so many different little garden areas that are so unique and so beautiful!I also highly recommend checking out the greenhouse!Free Park, lots of parking, paved paths, accessible parking, And dog friendly (on leash).

Manito Park was such a cool stop! The park is free to access, including the rose gardens and Japanese garden. There are so many neat little trails, with plenty of benches and restrooms for accessibility.I only got around to about half the park during my visit, but my favorite part was the Japanese maple tree that overlooks the small pond.

We were in town from Indiana and wanted to check out all the fall colors, this was a beautiful place to do that. I loved the green house as well!

I love this park. We went to the Christmas Lights, it was beautiful. My family has gone every Spring and Fall for a few years. The roses are amazing 🌹

Beautiful and relaxing place to visit. The annual flower garden is always a site to see, but my favorite part is visiting the perenial gardens to see all the beautiful herbs and flowers. For a sensory experience, don't forget to visit the lilac gardens in the spring and the rose gardens in the summer. A visit to the greenhouse and Japanese Gardens is a must!

I love bringing my son (2) to this park! Such a cute little playground. 2 toddler slides and a hammock swing. He's not old enough for the ropes course but I'm sure the old kids enjoy it.

Manito Park is always amazing and inviting. Duncan’s Garden is beautiful and worth taking time to visit and walk around. The Park Bench is a lovely cafe that offers ice cream and sandwiches and drinks. Love that place too!!

Manito is one of the best places in spokane! I don't take nearly enough advantage of it. So many people put in so many hours to keep this a beautiful and exciting place for us all to explore for free. I cannot thank the workers enough for all the time they put into this place.10/10 would highly recommend.

Wow! What an amazingly beautiful course! Well worth the $179 green fee this, my 292nd course played, resides in my top 10 in scenic beauty and quality of fairways and greens. It is both challenging and fun to play!Chris in the Pro Shop, and Marshals Kirk and Don were most accommodating, friendly and professional. The Pro Shop is well-stocked and restaurant serves a great Club sandwich. I will definitely be back to play this one!

My perspective on Circling Raven will probably be a bit different than most posts, as Kim and I were the 'ride alongs' on the boys golf day! We do this regularly on vacations and have seen many beautiful courses, HECK we live on a golf course with views. ALL staff were very friendly, welcoming, helpful and displayed a sense of humor which was a much appreciated added bonus. Circling Raven itself was a cut above most courses and absolutely breathtaking, every single hole. The way they have married the course to the natural beauty surrounding and throughout the course is exceptional and you never know what you'll see around the next bend or over the next hill. The added beauty of aged wooden bridges, old train tracks, tunnels, blooming crop fields, native wildlife (and on OUR day, those huge fluffy clouds) make this a course we'll be more than happy to crash on any future trips as well. Oh... and least I forget, the boys said the course was in top condition, challenging and made for some hilariously colorful self commentary along the way. Wonderful memories all around.

We were there to watch our daughter play in the high school state tournament. The course was beautiful! The variety on the holes was impressive. The course is long, would highly suggest a cart. The carts have nice features like a small cooler, club and ball wash station, and GPS screens you can order from.I really appreciated the course hosting the tournament. It was an incredible opportunity for our daughter. We will definitely plan to go back and play as a family!

The scope a size of this course is enormous. I love that the course is in front of you. No blind/trick shot necessary. Generous fairways for a short hitter like me. Played from white tees it was less intimidating for a first time player. Good distances between holes. Very fair price.

Amazing golf course ⛳️ I would rate it the best in the area. It is a very long course if you are walking if you are carting they have really nice gps carts. The practice facility is huge and the pro-shop has everything. We took the kids for a practice round and we were the only ones on the course pretty much it was amazing 🤩 highly suggest this course

Steven P — Google review

Wow! All I can say is wow! This course was amazing! The groundskeepers did an OUTSTANDING job! The clubhouse was amazing and Jordan at the front desk of the clubhouse was very helpful! Can’t wait to come back! Seriously haven’t golfed in over 10 years and I had such and amazing time! The carts were pretty awesome, the service ON the course was epic and it was just an all out Amazing opportunity, Connie Jacobs, thank you so much for helping us experience this wonderful time!

Played at circling raven for the first time yesterday and I’ve gotta say it exceeded expectations on all fronts. The course was amazing, the practice facility was top tier the staff was welcoming and friendly the food was priced extremely well for the quality. the pro shop had everything you could ask for and more. Will be making the trip again with out any hesitations.

Justin W — Google review

Hands down the best course I have played in Idaho or the area. Great condition, GPS on the carts. There is a lot of native grass, but no water which is a little different. I love to walk when I play but would not want to walk this course as it’s very spread out. Wish I would have taken more photos though. Also Bluetooth speakers on the carts which is very nice. Fairways probably impressed me more than anything else. Will hopefully make it back next year!

Nature & Parks

Mt Spokane is a towering mountain peak located in the Inland Northwest, boasting scenic trails and historic ruins that lead to an observation deck with breathtaking views. Regardless of weather conditions, people feel gravitated towards this majestic natural wonder. It provides ample opportunities for biking, hiking, and enjoying the stunning vistas it offers.

Moderate hike up to the top and back down to the parking lot. The Discover pass is required to park at the park. You will take two trails to the top #130 and #140 either trail is clearly marked with blue diamond shaped markers all the way up so it is fairly easy to follow. The All trails app is very handy on all the trails and if you go off the path it will let you know at least on the paid version. I highly recommend this location.

Amazing drive with spectacular views of the mountain ranges! Excellent ski park for all levels from bunny hills to longer ones. The hike in the snow was pretty good. Open access to many walking and hiking trails. The vista house was close at this point of the year so will definitely want to be back for that. Parking wasn’t difficult but imagine it gets crowded during summer.

Mt. Spokane was a nice drive from Spokane. We enjoyed the views from the summit and the trails that we tried. It was a bit of a hazy, smokey day due to the fires from the west and a few rare sprinkles that popped up in the morning.
