I’m not a news junkie anymore so maybe it’s just me that thinks our media was completely lost and behind on this event. Well here is , what happened in great detail, and the key players involved.

It seems ISIS (or whatever they call themselves now) has won after all with the embarrassment of Europe behind it—TURKEY.

PS—how fitting the senile Biden is now getting involved at the very end of his term when one of his first great fails was Afghanistan in 2021.

I’m not even going to bother with the vid, as the 1st premise is wrong:

There was no big battle in Homs and in fact the 1st rebels to enter Damascus were Druze and other groups coming in from the south.

This was created a few days ago (maybe around the 5-6 Dec) before that battle and well as before Damascus fell, his videos are well edited and searched so there is a delay. Not like military summary channel that creates 2 or even 3 a day.

However it does go into great detail about the players involved and the events.

This is what I’m afraid of. Once power is consolidated the Islamists will start genociding Christians.

Supposedly recent but you can’t tell for sure on X:

It starts out goofy, but it's a lot of information. I just can't know how reliable it is.

It was a huge mistake admitting Turkey into NATO. The Germans really blew choking on their colonial arrogance, as did France and England.

Trump needs to track-down who instigated and finaced this — all of them. Anything in which the Turks are involved is not going to advancing freedom and democracy. Wouldn’t be surprised to discover substantial involvement of the Biden regime and EU globalists.

I’ve been watching his vids for a few years now, seems fairly reliable.

On Turkey, I agree and feel they should be kicked out of NATO. They were only admitted as a bulwark against the Warsaw pact. Russia is 1/4 as strong so why do we even need them? ( Warsaw pact had 16,000 military aircraft in the 70s, Russia has about 4000 today).

Russia can’t even conquer Ukraine as proof.

Simple - the Saudis and their gulf friends. Its them that have been cutting the paychecks. And the whole operation was remarkably cheap. Those weren’t a lot of guys committed to the operation, nor any expensive equipment.

Its the Assad side that folded with barely a fight. It wasn’t an offensive so much as it was a chase. A progressive collapse in morale prevented the Assad forces from making a stand anywhere.

And note, moreover, that Trump has been good buddies with the Saudis.

IOW Incirlik may be the next Bagram. Wonder how many nukes are still there? Were I some US military poohbah, I'd get them out yesterday.

“It was a huge mistake admitting Turkey into NATO. “

Early in, Turkey was a way station for the USAF to jump into a middle east war. With technological changes, especially with drone technology, I’m not sure what the value is of having Turkey in NATO.

Oh goody. Isn't that inviting?

Watching this video taught me a lot about modern warfare, military morale, training, and preparation, and how far from "well regulated" is our national unorganized militia. I wrote an article about that in 2016 as relates to an understanding of the first clause of the Second Amendment. It never was posted on FR, I suspect because the idea is so powerfully scary in the wrong hands.

The immediate losers are Russia and Iran. Russia has lost their ally (Assad) and a key naval base in Syria. Iran has also lost Assad as an ally and much of their land route to supply Hezbollah. In addition, the example of a nearby dictator and his regime being overthrown is ominous for the Iranian mullahs.

The immediate winners are Israel and Turkey. Israel's security is improved, while Turkey has succeeded in projecting power in the Levant. This advances Erdogan's goal of creating a neo-Ottoman empire.

My guess is that it will take years for a stable new regime to emerge in Syria. With the country exhausted, a relatively peaceful era may be in the offing to the degree that the Syrian people have anything to say about it.

Assad was a moderate, who wanted a future for his kids. The new management are Islamists who want to die in Jihad to get their 72 virgins

How is Israel's security improved with the likes of Al Quaida in control of Syrias armaments?

Many of the same players that supported ISIS are involved this time around as well.

And this was an inside job - lots of Syrian military threw in the towel and let the insurgents through without a fight

It will be interesting to see who finally wins control

The new lot are less organized than Iran, and have less in the way of financial resources, as they have to beg for money from the Saudis and the gulf. Their paymasters are not at this point inclined to facilitate wars against Israel.

The rebel groups absolutely dont have a source of income, they are beggars.

As for existing Syrian armaments that they could “inherit”, I understand the Israelis have been working on that.
